Mission
The mission of Ggwanga Mujje DC is to nourish the values, culture and heritage of Baganda people and their Diaspora families in the mid-atlantic area. By understanding and practicing the rich culture and traditions of Buganda, we are able to acquire knowledge, skills and norms that can be passed onto future generations.

message from the president ggwanga mujje dc
Greetings Ggwanga Mujje DC members and friends,
We are thankful for your passion and commitment to grow and sustain our community organization during the challenging times we live in of Covid-19. As a leadership team, we have faced similar challenges and limitations but have demonstrated the ability to adapt and keep our members engaged in Buganda activities
Ggwanga Mujje DC continues to bring our community and families together under one umbrella, the glue we need to stitch together the values and prosperity of Buganda.
As Baganda in the Diaspora we often depart and resettle with no belongings from our previous life. What we bring along are memories of customs, beliefs, words of songs, stories, our language, culture and norms.
Our cultural associations in the Diaspora have a duty to grow the Buganda tent and transfer that knowledge and rich culture to first and second generation Baganda. These fruits of Buganda need a space like Ggwanga Mujje to construct an identity rich in their cultural norms as they blend and evolve into global citizens.
We honor the sacrifice and hard work of all those that continue to make Buganda a shining star in the Pearl of Africa and the Diaspora. Your strength, wisdom, courage and resilience will forever make Buganda and the Diaspora a better place.
Twebaza Katonda olw’ekirabo ky’obulamu bwa Ssaabasajja Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II. Tusaba omutonzi amuwangaaze asigale nga akulembera Obuganda.
With gratitude,
Dr. Daniel Kawuma President Ggwanga Mujje DC President@ggwangamujjedc.org
